MDL Lith printing

This unusual printing technique gives results that are as fascinating as they are unpredictable and unrepeatable. The combination of certain kinds of fiber base paper, very definite overexposure and lith developer (normally used in graphic art), in a highly diluted solution and at an elevated temperature gives blacks that are rich, deep and grainy, and soft, delicate highlights. The choice of paper results in variations in tones and shading, which can be emphasized or modified by subsequent toning.
