Born in Milan in 1961, Simone Casetta was very young when he began to work as an assistant in the studio and darkrooms of photographers Luciano Ferri e Gianni Greguoli; he later worked with fashion and advertising photographers.
His independent work began in 1981, with commissions for portraits and photo reportages from private companies and from magazines and newspapers. Since the 90’s he has concentrated mainly on photo reports covering social issues and his own personal research, producing many series of photos shot in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America.
