The Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity was designed to protect the security and genuineness of limited edition art works and to reduce the risk of forgery.
Each certificate has a serial number in the form of a hologram. The certificate can also be personalized with a description of the artwork, the artist’s name, the edition and the date, applied using inkjet printing, laser, thermal transfer or offset printing. A second, identically numbered hologram is supplied to be affixed to the artwork, usually on the reverse side. The combination of certificate and hologram ensures that each certificate of authenticity relates to one particular piece of art.
The certificates are produced in conformity with the strict standards and regulations of Europay and Clearstream, world leaders in the protection of limited editions from forgery. The certificate and the holograms include both visible and invisible anti-forgery features: serial number, embossed designs, watermark and ultra-violet fluorescent ink lettering.
For a further guarantee of security, Hahnemühle keeps a record of each certificate issued.
